TemporaSync™

SY-4096

NTP Time Server · Stratum 1

Typical order model: SY-4096-GN-O-S Coming soon

Nameplate: TemporaSync · SY-4096

Half-width 1U industrial NTP: IEEE 1588 hardware timestamps, OCXO holdover, and standard hardware time outputs (1PPS / IRIG-B / programmable pulse). LAN Stratum 1 for factory, campus, and building-edge cabinets.

Fit Factory/campus edge cabinets, building BA / rack-ready weak-current rooms, industrial I/O cabinets, production & security subnets—single-subnet stamp+OCXO+hardware time I/O.

Not for Immediate cabinet stock delivery (use SY-1231); or multi-port / dual-supply plant flagship (see SY-8640).

vs 1231: half-width 1U · hardware-stamped NTP · OCXO · hardware time I/O as standard; client ID cap ~200. Still single-port for edge stamp, holdover, and industrial time outputs—does not replace the 8640 multi-port / dual-supply flagship. Do not publish unmeasured req/s before gate; contract the shipping datasheet. Aligned with datasheet v1.1 / website copy.

How it differs from the other model

The 4096 code is 2¹²—a cabinet capacity name (slave-clock mnemonic). Contract ID-cap / reply rate still follow the shipping datasheet; do not treat 4096 as a measured client count. Below: SY-1231 protocol SKU. Above: SY-8640 time-origin flagship. Reserved: SY-8192 = next cabinet, 2× slaves.

Oscillator / power O=OCXO; S=single wide-range DC (see nameplate)
Identity cap Default ~200 clients (policy/selection cap; ≠ guaranteed field density)
NTP performance Do not publish unmeasured req/s before gate; contract the shipping datasheet
Management Web; SNMP read-only per shipping firmware

Interfaces

  • GNSS ANT
  • LAN · 1× RJ45 (NTP + Web)
  • 1PPS · BNC
  • IRIG-B · DCLS
  • 485 + PULSE (pin 4 = programmable pulse, not 1PPS)
  • DC · single wide-range
  • Front status LEDs; optional display (-H)

Included

  • GNSS-disciplined NTP Stratum 1 after lock
  • IEEE 1588 hardware-timestamped NTP
  • OCXO holdover
  • Hardware time outputs: 1PPS / IRIG-B / programmable pulse
  • Half-width 1U · single-port Web ops (cable diagnostics per shipping firmware)

Not included (do not assume for tenders)

  • Multi-port / dual-NIC failover / dual PSU as standard
  • Using 4096 as a 8640 multi-port flagship substitute
  • Invented throughput or “millions of clients” before the shipping datasheet
  • Describing programmable pulse as a multi-OUT matrix; ns-level network NTP promises

Aligned with datasheet / website copy v1.1 (half-width 1U · hardware-stamped NTP · OCXO · hardware time I/O as standard). Do not put unmeasured req/s in contracts before gate. Final shipping figures follow the post-gate revision. Factory traceability and Web exports follow the 1231 pattern after ship; cable diagnostics per firmware.

FAQ

Who is SY-4096 for?
Factory, campus, and building-BA edge cabinets: half-width 1U, single 10/100M port, hardware-stamped NTP, OCXO, and hardware time outputs (1PPS / IRIG-B / programmable pulse). Typical order model SY-4096-GN-O-S.
Can we order SY-4096 as shipping stock today?
Do not write it as broadly shipping. Status is coming soon; datasheet v1.1 is pre-gate. For immediate cabinet delivery use SY-1231 and bridge until 4096 ships.
Does 4096 replace the SY-8640 multi-port flagship?
No. 4096 stays single-port and does not include dual-NIC failover or dual PSU as standard. Separated mgmt/timing, multi-gigabit, or dual supply → roadmap SY-8640.
What Ethernet and client numbers can we cite?
Still 1× RJ45 10/100M (NTP and Web on the same port). Identity cap defaults to about 200 (selection cap, not a field-density guarantee). Do not publish unmeasured req/s before gate; contract the shipping datasheet.
How do hardware time outputs differ from the 1231?
4096 ships 1PPS (BNC), IRIG-B DCLS, and a programmable pulse, edge-aligned to the disciplined second. 1231 offers TTL 1PPS, minute PULSE, and Modbus—no IRIG and no OCXO.
